Postdoctoral Position- Human T cell responses
Our independent, non-profit research institute is currently seeking highly motivated researchers for an immediate opening in the research group of Dr. Alessandro Sette.
Successful candidates will join an interdisciplinary group of researchers dedicated to the identification and characterization of T cell responses against a variety of complex antigens, such as allergens, viruses, and bacteria.
We are interested in understanding the human immune response to common allergens and various infectious agents such as dengue virus, pertussis and mycobacterium tuberculosis. Our research utilizes the tools of bioinformatics-based epitope predictions to identify correlates of immune responses through studying blood samples (PBMC) from individuals previously exposed to the allergen/pathogen, currently experiencing active disease, or who have been vaccinated.
Methods frequently used in this research include isolating and culturing different primary cells of the immune system as well as ELISpot, FACS and intracellular cytokine staining.
Ideal postdoctoral candidates will have strong backgrounds in immunology, with an emphasis on T cell immunity, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with bioinformatics is a strong plus.
