About the Position
The La Jolla Institute for Immunology (LJI) invites applications for a tenured faculty position, preferably at the rank of Full Professor, to expand our research program in immunology. Applicants must have an outstanding record of scientific accomplishments in one or more sub-disciplines of immunology demonstrated by a strong publication record, success in securing competitive research funding, and national and international recognition. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and strong work ethics are a requirement.

LJI is an independent not-for-profit research institute located on the campus of the University of California in San Diego (UCSD). The institute has recently concluded a formal affiliation agreement with UCSD designed to enhance our scientific capabilities and establish an outstanding, internationally competitive joint immunology program. The institute offers a superb and broadly based research environment ranging from molecular genetics and structural biology to cellular and molecular immunology, cancer immunology, developmental biology, studies in animal inflammation models and human clinical trials. Interactions and collaborations are in place with neighboring institutions such as the Salk, Scripps, Sanford Burnham Prebys and J Craig Venter Institutes, the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC), and many local pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
