Research Technician (VD – Crotty)

Job Summary:
A full-time position for a research technician is immediately available in the Division of Vaccine Discovery at the La Jolla Institute for Immunology. The research goals of the laboratory are to elucidate the immunobiology of successful viral vaccines and apply those principles/mechanisms to the development of future vaccines (Science 2009; J. Virology 2009; Immunity 2011). The work will include analysis of human samples by flow cytometry and histology, cell cultures, and basic immunology research using in vivo mouse studies.

Leveling Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, able to work efficiently, carefully record and organize experiments, sustain independent projects as well as work as a member of a team.

Candidates should have a B.S. or more in immunology, molecular biology or related field and at least 1 year of full time laboratory experience in human immunology and/or small animal model biology.

Experience with flow cytometry and confocal microscopy is a plus.
