Scientific Editor and Research Project Coordinator

Job Summary
Do you enjoy writing? Do you have a science background? The La Jolla Institute is seeking a motivated and organized individual to assist in the editing and writing of scientific documents, and organization of collaborative scientific interactions. This position will work closely with the principal investigator (lead researcher), as well as the research project team, to prepare data figures, write and edit scientific manuscripts, research grants, and program-related research documents. This position provides a unique chance to work with some of the world’s most influential scientists in the fields of cancer and cardiovascular research.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include meeting regularly with lead investigator and team members, organizing video and in-person conferences with outside scientific collaborators, and preparing documents and data figures related to grants, scientific publications and conferences.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, and be highly motivated to learn quickly in order to become an actively contributing member of the team. Excellent scientific writing and editing skills are essential.

Leveling Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree
•Experience in scientific writing.
•Excellent time management and organizational skills
•Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator.
