New, sophisticated, and in some cases expensive technologies are required to be at the cutting edge of biomedical research. La Jolla Institute has invested heavily in new technologies to catalyze breakthroughs by our exceptionally talented research staff. One example is our Center for Functional Genomics, which resulted from a highly competitive federal granting process aimed at re-invigorating the local research community.
La Jolla Institute has also been selected as the host of two national resources in the field of immunology, the Immune Epitope Database (IEDB) and the Database of Immune Cell Epigenomes (DICE). LJI’s selection is a testament to its researchers’ expertise, and its technical and administrative capacities that such resources require.
