Research Assistant Professor, Director of Antibody Discovery

Center for Vaccine Innovation

My lab is driven by a simple curiosity: how do viral glycoproteins subvert and hide from the human immune system to cause such devastating global effects? By mapping the antigenic landscapes of these heavily cloaked proteins, my lab transforms antibody-defined maps of viral vulnerability into precise, actionable blueprints for pandemic preparedness.

One of the most effective tools in our arsenal against emerging viral threats is the rapid identification and deployment of therapeutics and vaccines. My research leverages structural biology to decipher the architecture and functional mechanisms of viral proteins. By characterizing the structures of viral surface glycoproteins in complex with antibodies, I aim to elucidate the fundamental mechanisms driving human humoral responses to viral infection, revealing vulnerabilities in these often heavily cloaked proteins.
