Development of a therapeutic antibody cocktail against New World Arenaviruses

The New World Arenaviruses are highly pathogenic viruses spread by rodents ubiquitous in the Americas. No vaccines or therapeutics are yet approved. My lab is characterizing first-in-class antibodies that neutralize these viruses through a combination of cutting-edge antibody discovery and structural biology. These same innovative strategies will be used to uncover more such antibodies against complementary target sites to aid in the development of life-saving therapeutics against a family of viruses with pandemic potential.
