Ways to Give

Outright gifts of cash – contributions are simple to do and provide immediate tax savings. Additionally, gifts of this kind benefit the La Jolla Institute for Immunology now. You can securely donate online by ACH transfer or credit card. Credit card payment options also include Google Pay, PayPal, and Venmo. If you prefer, to send a check, please make it payable to “LJI” or “La Jolla Institute for Immunology” and mail it to:

If you have a donor advised fund (DAF), you can recommend donations directly from your DAF. Many DAFs will request LJI’s Federal Tax ID Number which is:

For those with DAFs with Fidelity Charitable, DAFgiving360, and BNY Mellon, DAF Direct enables you to recommend grants to LJI directly from your DAF using its portal. The portal can be accessed here.
Contributions of appreciated publicly traded securities can provide you with multiple tax advantages. Stock certificates can be delivered directly to the Institute in person or by mail, or preferably, transferred directly from your brokerage account to the Institute. Donating cryptocurrency can be a tax efficient way to enable our scientists to accelerate the pace of research. LJI accepts donations in the form of many cryptocurrencies. Click here to learn more about donating cryptocurrency securely online.

Donations of property to La Jolla Institute for Immunology are made possible through a partnership with the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Charitable Adult Rides & Services (CARS), which enables the Institute to accept donations of real estate, cars, trucks, trailers, motorcycles, RVs, campers, off-road vehicles, planes, helicopters, boats, heavy equipment, farm machinery etc.
This donation option removes the hassle of repairing, selling, transporting, and/or disposing of property, and may result in a tax deduction for the donor. Property assets in all conditions will be considered. Liquidated property assets are converted directly to cash donations for La Jolla Institute for Immunology.
